This watercolor painting measures 22' h x16" wdie and was paintined from a photo I took on a visit to Dorthea Dix Park's Sunflower Fields in July 2023. Every year the City plants a glorious filed of sunflowers which bloom in the heat of the summer in North Carolina. This year I decided to skip painting in Plein Air in favor of returning to the studio to capture the colors more accurately and not sweat so much!
